Description: IBC Approach to Hazardous Materials: Part 1 (Introduction).  Half day ICC ® Preferred Provider Course No. 39372.
Code requirements addressing hazardous are complex and confusing. This two-part course* describes how the IBC regulates hazardous materials to protect public and first responder safety.
Part 1 explains the IBC physical and health hazard classes and characteristics, reviews important code language applicable to hazardous materials and explains the “control area concept” and construction features of occupancies that do not exceed the maximum allowable quantities (MAQ) of hazardous materials.
