Presented by: Rocque Yballa - Retired from Central County Fire Department as a Division Chief/Fire Marshal in 2019. He has more than 30 years’ experience in fire prevention and emergency management. He holds a AS in Fire Science and a BS in Fire Protection Technology. Chief Yballa is one of the original cadre members for State Fire Training CFSTES Fire Inspector and Fire Marshal Series. He is a past president of the San Mateo County FPOs and Cal Chiefs FPOs, NORCAL. Rocque is currently the Campus Fire Marshal for UC San Francisco.
Ian Hardage - Battalion Chief Fire Marshal for South San Francisco Fire Department, is a Certified: Fire Marshal, Plans Examiner, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Fire Fighter, and Instructor. He has served on the International Code Council Administrative Code Development Committee, State Fire Marshal Existing Building Code Workgroup and participated in the State Fire Training Fire Inspector Certification Cadre.
Course Description: Fire Inspector 2A - This course provides students with a basic knowledge of the administrative requirements related to the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Inspector 2 including processing permit and plan review applications, enforcing permit regulations, investigating complex complaints, recommending modifications to codes and standards, recommending policies and procedures for inspection services, generating written appeals correspondence, initiating legal action, evaluating inspection reports, and proposing technical reference material acquisition.
