Part 2 explains how the IBC hazardous materials storage provisions apply to mercantile (Group M) and storage (Group S) occupancies and explains additional fire protection and life safety features in other occupancies that exceed the maximum allowable quantities (MAQ) of hazardous materials, making them one of the Group H (Hazardous) occupancies.
