Training Topic: Fire Prevention Best Practices from Planning Cases to Op Permits;
Development Process and Annual Inspection Overview
This session will review the development process from planning cases to operational permits and provide some insights into customer service and the application of common sense in Fire Prevention. This will also cover some of the nonstandard inspections and reviews we provide including DSA 810 Fire and Life Safety Site Conditions for Schools, State Fire Clearance (850 Inspections), Public Improvement Plans (AKA Mylars), Special Events and AB 38 Escrow Defensible Space Inspections.
A full list of all the various types of new construction inspections will be reviewed highlighting some of the challenges and common issues found in the field. This will cover some inspections jurisdictions utilize such as weld inspections and coordinating racking inspections with building final and fire permits.
Case studies will include use of civil plans as bid sets for underground fire lines, high pile storage. Additionally, we will review several models of annual inspection programs and discuss common issues found, focusing on operational permits for existing uses.
