Janice Cheung-Powell Appointed to California Building Standards Commission

The Commission oversees California’s building regulations contained in Title 24, which establish statewide standards for fire and life safety, accessibility, structural integrity, and building systems. These standards directly impact the daily work of fire prevention professionals, inspectors, plan reviewers, and code officials throughout California.
Janice brings valuable experience as a Fire Marshal, licensed Fire Protection Engineer, and fire prevention educator. Her appointment reflects the importance of strong fire prevention representation in California’s code development process.
